Chapter Six
"Well, Mrs. Huwig, I'm pretty sure that we're about done here. Is there anything else you would like me to explain before I leave?" Sadria shook her head slowly, "No. I'm pretty sure I understand. This is all the paperwork that I need to fill out?" The lawyer gathered all of his things together, standing up. "That's all you need to fill out. Just give me a call when you're finished with it." She nodded, looking at the papers in front of her. She studied them carefully.
The lawyer watched her for a few more minutes. He shook his head a bit, sighing. He then walked away, heading out of the cafe. She continued to study the paperwork when Acronell walked into the cafe. He went to the counter, handing Hugh his usual box of donuts. "Thanks, hun. How is she doing? She was back there with a lawyer but he just left." Acronell looked to the back spotting her. "Actually, she's been a bit reserved since that night. She's hurting pretty badly. I hate to see her like this, but I know that she needs support." He shook his head, walking over to Sadria.
He sat down next to her, looking over the papers briefly. "You actually going to go through with it? I mean, you don't have to do it right now if you don't really want to." She looked at him, tears swelling up in her eyes. "The sooner I get this done, the sooner I can move on with my life." He looked at her a bit confused,"Grieving is a natural process. What do you need to move on so fast for?" Sadria looked down at her stomach, rubbing it gently. "Because I'm pregnant." He just stared at her, not completely believing what he had just heard. "Pre.. pregnant?" She shook her head yes.
He just stared at her, "He got you pregnant How long have you been pregnant?" She sighed, "At least a month or two." Oh.... Well, if you need help raising the child, I'll be glad to." She looked back at him, tears falling from her eyes. He watched her, looking a bit sad himself. "I'm going to keep it whether he's the father or not...." Acronell reached over and placed a hand on hers. "Don't worry about it. I said I would help and I intend to." She looked down again, sighing a bit. He pulled her over onto his lap, running hi hands through her hair. She buried her face in his chest, still crying. He then wrapped his arms around her, trying to comfort her.
He picked up the paper work, skimming through it really quickly. He set it back onto the table then rested his chin upon the top of Sadria's head. She moved her head to his shoulder as he began to run his fingers through her hair again. "Shh. It's fine. There is no need to cry." She looked up at him, kissing his cheek gently. He tried to wipe the tears from her eyes and kissed her forehead. She rested her head back on his shoulder, trying to not cry anymore.
Just then, Nina and Aunt Turtle walked into the cafe. They looked around and spotted Acronell, though they couldn't see Sadria. They walked over and saw that Sadria was on his lap, trying to not cry. They both sat down on either side of them, watching Sadria closely. Sadria looked over at them and smiled faintly. Nina sighed, "Are you okay, hun? Anything we can do to help?" She just looked down at the papers on the table then at Nina. "I'm fine. I just need to get this done and over with. All I have to do is move on with my life." She placed her hand back on her stomach as she closed her eyes and sighed.
Both Nina and Aunt Turtle reached for the papers since they were curious about them. They stopped and asked in unison, "Are those the divorce papers?" Sadria nodded a bit, resting her head back on Acronell's shoulder. They looked at her in awe. "You're actually going to divorce him?" Sadria sighed, nodding again. Nina looked at Aunt Turtle, smiling a bit. Aunt Turtle looked back at her, giggling. They both turned back to Sadria, "Aww! We're proud of you! You didn't need him anyways." Sadria rolled her eyes then sat up. She looked back and forth between them.
They were both smiling at her still. She quirked a brow at them, wondering what they were thinking now. They continued to smile, making Sadria feel a bit uncomfortable. "W.. what?" They giggled, "You two look so cute together! Are you two dating now?" Sadria and Acronell both turned red and looked at each other. They looked a bit terrified at the same time, since neither of them had really thought about it. Then Aunt Turtle chimed in, "You know, it wouldn't be a bad idea if you two did date." Sadria and Acronell turned a brighter shade of red as they looked at Aunt Turtle. "W... what?" Nina and Aunt Turtle started giggling at them.
Hugh over heard all of the giggling and looked in their direction. He could see how bright red Sadria and Acronell both were. He chuckled a bit and made his way over to them. He stood behind Acronell and Sadria, listening to the conversation. Then, Nina remembered something. "Sadria, aren't you still... you know?" Sadria looked at her, "pregnant? Yes." Acronell wrapped his arms tighter around her, "And I'm to help take care of 'em. Which ever it turns out to be." Nina's jaw dropped, "You're going to keep it? Even though it's Marc's?" Sadria nodded gently, placing her hands on her stomach again.
Hugh shook his head slowly, still listening. He walked further into the group then reached down and hugged Sadria. "At least you figured out what you're going to do." He stood back, not trying to fully get into the conversation. He was having more fun just listening to it. The, he snickered again, "Sadria, you two do make a cute couple. Why aren't you dating yet?" Sadria turned a brighter red, "Why are you guys doing this to me? It's torture!" They laughed at her as she buried her face into Acronell's chest.
Acronell looked at her, "Come on, let's go. I'll take you home." Sadria then stood up and looked around. "I'll talk to you all later." Acronell stood up as well and escorted her out of the cafe. Once outside, Acronell turned to Sadria, "Let's go out somewhere. Maybe to get a bite to eat?" Sadria blushed a bit, looking away. "I suppose that it couldn't hurt. Where would we go, though?" "I have a place in mind, thar is, if you wouldn't mind going somewhere and not know where you're going." She looked around trying to figure out where he would think of taking her. "I have no problem with that."
Sadria walked to her car, looking back up at him. "Are we meeting there or... what?" Acronell walked to his car as well, "I'll follow you home so you can get ready. I have extra clothes in my car that I can change into." Sadria nodded and got into her car. She waited for him then lead the way back to her house. They both pulled into her driveway and she got out of her car, walking to the front door to unlock it. Acronell gathered his clothes from his back seat as Sadria went inside. She put her paperwork on her kitchen table so that she wouldn't forget about it later. Acronell then walked into the house as well, closing the door behind him.
"So is this place a formal or a casual place?" "Heh, it's formal. Go get ready. I'll use the downstairs bathroom." Sadria nodded then headed upstairs to find something to wear. She went into her room and searched through her closet. She found her beautiful crimson gown and decided that that was what she'd wear. She slipped out of her clothes and into the gown then made her way to the bathroom. She looked in the mirror at herself then began to do her hair. She quickly put make-up on, looking herself over in the mirror.
"Are you ready, Sadria?" Sadria fixed a stray hair on her head then began for the stairs, "Yea, I'm coming now." She slowly made her way to the bottom of the stairs where Acronell was waiting for her. He just stared at her like he had the first day he had met her. She blushed a bit and looked away from him. "If you don't like it, I could change." He shook his head, "No, I like it. You look more beautiful than ever." She blushed a bit more. He took her hand and lead her to the door, opening it for her. He then escorted her to the passenger side of his car, opening the car door for her as well.
Acronell ran back, locking the front door. He then came back to his car, getting in the driver's side. "So where are we going again?" "It's a secret, remember? You said you didn't care if I took you to a place and you didn't know where." She sighed, "I know, but I hate surprises." He laughed a bit and drove off to a really fancy restaurant.
After an hour or two, Acronell and Sadria drove back to Sadria's. Sadria slipped out of the car and unlocked the front door, laughing and smiling with Acronell. They walked inside, hanging up their coats. Sadria walked into the kitchen as Acronell went into the living room. Sadria stopped dead in her tracks, however, her eyes focused on the man sitting at her kitchen table. She dropped her purse on the floor and began to slowly back up. Unfortunately, she backed into the wall.
Marc approached her more quickly than she had backed up. He pinned her against the wall, staring deep into her eyes. "Changing the locks on me was a bad idea, hun." Her eyes began to tear up as he placed pressure to her wrists, which he was pinning her by. "Just look at what I had to do to the back door!" She glanced over at the busted back door then returned her eyes upon him. "Please, Sadria, take me back. I miss you and love you!" Tears started streaming down her face as Marc pressed his body against hers, his face just inches from hers. "You know, 'til death do we part."
Acronell walked into the kitchen, wondering what was taking Sadria so long. He spotted the back door which was busted open and looked around frantically. There, on the other side of the kitchen was Marc, pinning Sadria to the wall. Marc tried to kiss her, but she kept moving, crying. Acronell became angry at the sight of this and walked up behind Marc. He grabbed him by the back of his collar, tearing him away from Sadria. She dropped to the floor, watching the two of them, in tears. "Why the hell are you back here? And why are you bothering her?"
Marc turned around and looked at Acronell. "What does it matter to you? I'm her husband, not you." Acronell then punched Marc in the face, making him fall to the floor. "You're not going to be her husband for very long. She's filing for divorce." Marc looked horrified, glancing back at Sadria. She just sat there watching, dazed. he turned back to Acronell, "You put her up to that, didn't you? You wanted her for yourself so you had to go and spoil my fun, then you put her up to divorcing me!" Acronell shook his head a bit, "You're pathetic! She decided to divorce you on her own! She didn't even believe me that you were cheating until she saw it herself!"
Acronell walked over to the counter and surveyed the knives on it. Marc got up and walked over to him. "Lies! I don't believe you! You put her up to it!" Marc balled his hands into fists as Acronell picked up the biggest knife he could find then turned around. Upon turning around, the knife went straight through Marc's neck with ease, decapitating him. "Well now you can't hurt or bother her anymore, you pitiful soul." Sadria stared at the blood gushing out of Marc as a smiled appeared on her face.
Acronell dropped the knife in the sink, plugging the sink first. "Sadria, hun. Could you get me some bleach to clean this knife off?" Sadria stood up and looked at the body on the floor. "Good thing my kitchen is white and can be easily cleaned." She left the room for a few minutes then came back carrying a bottle of bleach. She handed it to Acronell who then began to clean the knife thoroughly. She brought out a cleaning bucket, pouring some bleach, alcohol, and cleansing powder into it. "Can you drag the body to the basement while I clean the kitchen?"
Acronell nodded, picked up the body, and took it to the basement. Sadria grabbed a pair of gloves and began to clean. Acronell came back up, grabbing a pair of gloves himself. He then began to help her clean. By the time everything was spotless, they were exhausted. They emptied out the bucket, replaced the knife, and headed to bed. Sometime while Sadria was still sleeping, Acronell made his way to the kitchen. He placed the area to look like a break in. He moved to the living room and did the same thing. He went back to bed after that, turning on some music in the process.
One of the neighbor had heard the commotion when Acronell was in the kitchen. They had also seen the back door broken open. They ended up calling the police, worried about Sadria and Acronell. When the cops showed up, however, Sadria was still sleeping. Acronell had woken up when he had heard the sirens. He smiled gently to himself then began to look a bit worried. He could hear the cops in the living room. He shook Sadria awake, "Hun, wake up. The cops are here!"
Sadria woke up suddenly and stared at him, frightened. He smiled, "I'll explain later." They both got up and opened the door, walking downstairs. Upon seeing the living room, Sadria looked terrified as Acronell looked worried. "W.. what happened?!" The cops looked at them both. "Are you Sadria and Acronell?" They both nodded slowly. "Do you have any idea what happened here?" Sadria slid down against the wall, "My house... my beautiful house... Who would do such a thing?" The cop watched her, convinced that she didn't know.
"We've taken finger prints on the door. We believe that it was Marc Huwig, your husband, ma'am. Do you know why he would have broken in?" She looked up at the cop. "Marc? I... I haven't seen him since I kicked him out. I have the divorce papers in the.kit.. kitchen.... I was filing for divorce, but.. why would he break into my home? He was the one cheating on me!" Tears began to stream down her face as Acronell sat on the stairs, trying to comfort her.
The cop shook his head a bit, "We found the divorce papers, but you may want to contact your lawyer to get more." She looked at him a bit puzzled, "Why?" The cop held up the folder the papers were in and opened it. The papers were shredded to pieces, some even burnt. More tears streamed down her face and the cop looked around at the others. "We all done here?" The others nodded, having gotten the evidence they needed. The cop turned back to Sadria, "Go ahead and clean up the place. We've got the evidence we need. We won't need to come back and survey the house again. I'll also send someone out to help you clean up." Then the cops left the house.
Sadria looked at Acronell and he sighed. "Later. I want to make sure they're gone before I spill." She sighed as well, "Fine, but remember, I shed tears for your little cover up." Sadria had known that they had left. She could see the cars from the living room window. He moved into the living room and started to clean up. She sat there for a few seconds then got up and helped. Soon, someone pulled up in front of the house. They knocked on the front door, which Acronell answered. It was the person to help clean. Sadria looked up and smiled weakly.
After a couple of hours of cleaning the house, the 'help' finally left. Sadria glared at Acronell then turned around and walked up the stairs. Acronell followed her and grabbed her around the waist. He pulled her to him and kisses her neck gently. "Still mad at me? After what I had done to throw off the cops?" Sadria shrugged him off and walked into the bedroom. He caught up to her again and spun her around to face him. He kissed her gently then whispered in her ear, "Go out with me."
Sadria backed up a bit and looked at him. She wasn't sure if she had heard him correctly. He smirked, "Come on. We've been seeing each other for a while now. Let's make it official." Sadria sat down on the bed, thinking things over in her head. She stared down at the floor, trying to decide what to do. She looked back up at him, a smile spreading across her face. "Of course I will. We have been seeing each other for a while and everyone wants us to."
He dropped to his knees and wrapped his arms around her. "You know, we have to tell everyone now." She laughed a bit at his reaction, "I know. Won't they be happy to hear the news." She stood up the best she could with Acronell still clinging on to her. She laughed, trying to push him off of her. "You don't want to hurt a pregnant woman, do you?" He reluctantly let go of her and stood up as well.
She walked past him to the door, "When do you think we should tell them?" He laughed as he walked to her, "Tonight, of course." She walked out of the bedroom then downstairs. She walked into the kitchen and began to cook something up. Acronell drifted downstairs and leaned against the kitchen door frame. He watched as she cooked breakfast for the both of them. He then walked over to her and began to help her cook. She left him to cook as she set the table for the two of them.
They set down and ate after Acronell finished cooking. They took their time eating then cleaned up their mess. Sadria picked up the phone and began to call everyone. They were all excited about getting together that night, but Sadria refused to tell anyone why she was having them get together. Acronell took her in his arms and carried her to the couch once she was off the phone. He layed her down, resting her head in his lap. She grabbed the remote and turned on the t.v.
She flipped through the channels, trying to fins something good on. She stopped, however, catching a glimpse of two missing children. She turned the volume up to hear it a bit better. "We'll have more about the two missing children at ten o'clock this evening." She shook her head a bit then looked at Acronell. He smiled at her then leaned down and kissed her gently. "Come on or we'll be late to our own celebration."
Sadria drug herself up to get ready to leave. Acronell smiled at her, seeing no sense in her worrying about her appearance when he already thought she was beautiful. He pulled her to him, wrapping his arms around her. "You're beautiful already. There is no need for all of this. Now, let's get going." She nodded and kissed him as they left the house. "I want to be back in time for that news report at ten, if that's okay with you." He nodded as they got into the car and drove off.
Acronell laughed as he opened the door for Sadria. She danced into the house, staring at her hand. He closed the door behind him, still chuckling. "I take it that you like it." She stopped dead in her tracks, looking at him. "Like it? Are you kidding? I love it!" She returned to dancing, making her way into the living room. She sat down on the couch, still staring at the ring on her finger. Acronell walked in as well, sitting next to her. "Good. I figured it would be a great surprise."
She laughed a bit, turning on the t.v. "It was a great surprise." The news then came on. "The two missing children, Bobby Marshall and Billy Baker have been missing for approximately 72 hours now. They were last seen at school and they never returned home. There is currently no lead as to where they could have gone. If anyone has any information about their whereabouts, please let the police department know. They need all the help they can get on this one. Now, after the break, we'll have an interview with their parents."
